- When the 50 messages are used up, AI replies pause until next month. The chat then shows the contact form instead, so visitors can still reach you and you still get the lead.
- A small “Powered by ChatBento” link shows in the widget. It can't be removed on Free; Standard ($30/month) and up remove it.
- 1 chatbot per account, trained on up to 50 pages.
- It answers from your content only. It can't look up orders or accounts, or take actions like refunds.

Is the free AI chatbot really free?
Yes. The Free plan costs nothing and has no time limit: 50 AI messages a month, 1 chatbot trained on up to 50 pages, lead capture, the handoff form and the inbox. A small “Powered by ChatBento” link shows in the widget. No card is needed to sign up.
What happens when I use up the free messages?
The chatbot stops writing AI replies for the rest of the month and shows the contact form instead, so visitors can still leave their email and you still get the lead. Your 50 messages come back at the start of the next month, or you can move to a paid plan from $8 a month.
What's the difference between the free trial and the Free plan?
The Free plan is where every account starts: 50 AI messages a month, no card, no time limit. The free trial is for paid plans: pick Hobby, Standard or Pro and use it free for 7 days. That needs a card, and the plan is charged when the trial ends unless you cancel first. We email you 3 days before.
Can I remove the “Powered by ChatBento” link?
Not on the Free plan; the link is how Free pays for itself. The Standard plan, at $30 a month, and plans above it remove it.
Are 50 messages a month enough?
For a small site with a few chats a week, often yes. If a conversation runs two to four AI replies, 50 messages covers roughly 13 to 25 conversations. If you get more than that, Hobby gives you 2,000 messages for $8 a month.
Is a free chatbot good enough for a small business?
The free chatbot is the same product as the paid plans: the same AI, the same answers from your content, the same lead capture and handoff. The paid plans add messages, chatbots and training pages, and Standard and up drop the branding. Start free and upgrade only if you outgrow it.
