- Pick a tone and add your business and assistant names if you like.
- Click a greeting to preview it in the chat window, then copy the one you like.
Four rules for a greeting people answer
- Name real topics. “Ask me about insurance, new-patient visits and office hours” tells a visitor their question is welcome. “How can I help you today?” doesn't.
- Keep it short. One or two sentences. The chat window is small and people skim.
- Be honest that it's an AI, and that a person can take over. It sets expectations and builds trust.
- Don't promise what it can't do. If the chatbot can't book appointments or look up orders, the greeting shouldn't suggest it can.

Questions. Answered.
What makes a good chatbot greeting?
It's short, says what the assistant can help with, and makes the first question easy. Under about 120 characters reads at a glance in a chat window. Naming two or three real topics, like insurance or opening hours, gets more replies than a general "How can I help?".
Should the greeting say it's an AI?
Yes. Saying it's an AI assistant sets the right expectations, and in the EU the AI Act requires people to be told they're talking to an AI unless it's obvious. Several greetings here say so in the first line.
Should every page have the same greeting?
Not if your chatbot lets you change it. A pricing page greeting can offer to explain options, a help page greeting can invite a question in the visitor's own words. If you can only set one, use the homepage version.
What are suggested questions?
Buttons under the greeting with common questions, so a visitor can start with one tap. The ones here are the shortest of the questions customers in your trade ask most, from our industry guides.
Is the greeting generator free?
Yes. It runs in your browser with no sign-up and no limit, and nothing you type is sent anywhere.
