How to use the chatbot name generator

  1. Choose your industry. The generator mixes words that fit it: a store gets words like Cart and Parcel, a clinic gets Care and Pulse.
  2. Choose a tone. Friendly gives warm first names and words like Buddy. Professional leans on Desk, Advisor and classic names. Playful is for brands with a sense of humor, and Modern sounds like a tech product.
  3. Add your business name if you want it in the mix. You'll also get names like “Northwind Assist” or “Nora from Northwind”.
  4. Click a name to preview it in a chat window header, copy the ones you like, and press “Show more names” for a fresh set.

Five kinds of chatbot names

Each set mixes styles so you can compare them side by side:

  • A first name (Ava, Henry) makes the assistant feel like part of your team.
  • A compound (CartBuddy, LedgerAssist) tells visitors what it helps with before they read a word.
  • “Ask” names (Ask Nora, Ask Atlas) invite the first question, which is the hardest message to get.
  • One word (Beacon, Compass) is short, memorable and easy to brand.
  • Your brand plus a role (Northwind Assist) is the safest choice for larger companies.

Pick the right one

Say the name out loud and type it once: if either is awkward, skip it. Check it fits next to your logo and greeting, and that it still makes sense when the bot says “I don't know, let me get a person.” Avoid names that promise more than a chatbot can do, like “Doctor” or “Lawyer”, and tell visitors it's an AI assistant in the greeting.

A name is only the start. What visitors remember is whether it answered their question. ChatBento trains your chatbot on your own website, docs and FAQs, so it answers like your team would, and hands the chat to you when it can't. Press “Use this name in ChatBento” and your new chatbot starts with the name you picked. Plans start at $8 a month after a 14-day free trial.

Questions. Answered.

What makes a good chatbot name?

Short, easy to say and easy to spell, fitting your brand's tone, and clear enough that visitors know they can ask it questions. Two or three syllables usually read best in a chat window header.

Should my chatbot have a human name?

A first name like Ava or Henry feels warm and personal, which suits services and small businesses. Be upfront that it's an AI assistant, for example in the greeting, so nobody thinks they're talking to a person.

Is the chatbot name generator free?

Yes. It runs in your browser from curated word lists, with no sign-up and no limit. Generate as many names as you like.

Can I check if a chatbot name is taken?

Search the name with your industry, and check your country's trademark database if you plan to use it in marketing. Names used only inside your own chat widget rarely cause problems, but a quick search is worth it.

Can I change my chatbot's name later?

In ChatBento, yes. The name shown in the widget header is a setting in your dashboard, and a change shows on your site within a minute.
