Turn your docs and help center into answers.

Help-center search returns a list of articles and leaves the reading to the visitor. A chatbot trained on the same articles returns the answer itself, in a few sentences, with links to the pages it came from.

The problem

Keyword search works only when visitors use your words. Someone who types "can't log in" won't find an article called "Resetting your password" unless you've added the right synonyms.

Even when search finds the right article, the answer can be one paragraph in a long page. Many visitors give up and email support instead.

How ChatBento handles it

Reads your whole help center

Add your help-center address and the chatbot finds its articles through the sitemap and links, up to your plan's page limit.

Finds answers by meaning

Each question is matched to the most relevant passages using embeddings, so different wordings reach the same article.

Cites the source

Answers include links to the articles they came from, so visitors can read the full page and trust the answer.

Gaps become visible

When an article doesn't exist, the chatbot says so and offers the contact form, and the conversation in your inbox shows exactly what's missing.

Set it up in 5 steps

  1. 1

Add your help-center or docs URL as a website source.

  2. 2

Check the Sources list for failed or missing pages, and add important articles directly if they weren't found.

  3. 3

Add Q&As where an article is long but the common answer is short.

  4. 4

Put the widget on your help center and your main site, so visitors can ask from either.

  5. 5

Retrain after you publish or rewrite articles.

What to measure

Tickets per help-center visit

Divide new tickets by help-center visits each week; it should fall if visitors get answers.

Questions with no article

Collect the questions the chatbot couldn't answer and write those articles first.

Most-cited articles

Notice which pages answers link to most; keep those especially accurate and current.

Where it stops

The chatbot is only as complete as your articles. It won't fill gaps with guesses, and it doesn't replace your help center: it's a faster way into it.

Docs and help-center search questions. Answered.

Does it replace our help-center search?

It sits alongside it. Visitors can still browse and search articles; the chatbot gives a direct answer and links to the articles it used.

How many articles can it learn?

Up to your plan's limit of training sources, which counts pages, pasted text and Q&As together: 200 on Hobby, 2,000 on Standard and 10,000 on Pro.

What if two articles disagree?

The chatbot may draw on either, so fix the outdated article and retrain. Conflicting docs confuse people and chatbots alike.
