Add an AI chatbot to your WooCommerce store.
WooCommerce runs on WordPress, so the chatbot is added the WordPress way. WooCommerce's developer docs recommend the free Code Snippets plugin for custom code; a short snippet on WordPress's wp_footer hook prints the ChatBento script before </body> on every page.
Install on WooCommerce in 5 steps
Where it goes: Snippets → Add New (Code Snippets plugin), on the wp_footer hook
- 1
In ChatBento, open your chatbot, go to Install and copy your bot ID (the data-bot-id value in the snippet).
- 2
In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New, search for Code Snippets, then click Install Now and Activate.
- 3
Go to Snippets → Add New, give it a name such as ChatBento, and paste the PHP code below with your bot ID.
- 4
Choose “Run everywhere”, then click Save Changes and Activate. Clear your caching plugin's cache if you use one.
- 5
Open your live site in a new tab and click the chat bubble in the corner to test it.
Code Snippets → Add New (PHP)
add_action( 'wp_footer', function () {
echo '<script src="https://chatbento.com/widget.js" data-bot-id="YOUR_BOT_ID" async></script>';
} );Steps follow WooCommerce’s own documentation, checked October 23, 2026.
Your theme must call wp_footer
WordPress notes that wp_footer depends on the theme including it. Almost every theme does, including Storefront and block themes; if the bubble doesn't appear, check with your theme's author.
Prefer a header & footer plugin?
Any plugin that adds code before </body> works too. The WordPress guide shows that route with WPCode.
Caching and “delay JavaScript”
If a speed plugin delays JavaScript until the visitor interacts, the bubble may appear late. Exclude chatbento.com/widget.js from that setting.
What the chatbot does on your WooCommerce site
Answers from your content
Trained on your pages, docs and Q&As. It says so when it doesn't know, instead of guessing.
Hands off to you
When a visitor needs a person, it collects their email and sends you the conversation.

WooCommerce questions. Answered.
Can it answer questions about my products?
Yes, from your published product pages, shipping and returns pages, and anything you add as Q&As. It only answers from your content, so it won't invent prices or stock levels.
Does it show on the cart and checkout?
wp_footer runs on the front end of your whole site, so yes. Shoppers can ask a last question before paying.
Is it a WooCommerce extension?
No. It's one script tag, so there's no extension to keep updated and no access to your orders or customer data.
How much does ChatBento cost?
ChatBento has a free plan with 50 AI messages a month, free forever. Paid plans are Hobby at $8/month, Standard at $30/month and Pro at $100/month. New accounts start with a 14-day trial, no card required.
