Per-resolution pricing
Also called Outcome-based pricing, Pay per resolution
Per-resolution pricing is a billing model in which an AI support vendor charges a fee for each conversation its AI resolves, rather than a flat monthly price or a charge per message. What counts as a resolution varies by vendor, so the same traffic can cost very different amounts.
Example
A store with 2,000 AI-resolved chats a month pays 2,000 times the per-resolution fee, so its bill rises with every busy season.
Why it matters for a website chatbot
Per-resolution pricing ties cost to volume and makes bills hard to predict. Compare it with flat plans at your real traffic. ChatBento uses flat monthly plans with a set number of AI messages, plus a free plan.

- Resolution rateResolution rate is the percentage of conversations or tickets in which the customer's issue was actually solved. For AI chatbots, automated resolution rate counts conversations the bot resolved without a human, typically confirmed by the customer's feedback, a follow-up review or the absence of a repeat contact.
- TokenA token is the unit of text a language model reads and writes: a whole word, part of a word, a number or a punctuation mark. In English, one token averages about three-quarters of a word. AI providers measure context windows, speed and usage-based prices in tokens.
- Deflection rateDeflection rate is the share of support requests that are handled through self-service, such as a chatbot, help center or FAQ, instead of reaching a human agent. It is usually calculated as self-service sessions without a follow-up ticket divided by all support sessions, and expressed as a percentage.
