Guardrails

Also called AI guardrails

Guardrails are rules and checks placed around an AI system to keep its behavior within safe, intended limits. They can restrict topics, block harmful or off-brand output, require answers to come from approved sources, filter inputs for attacks, and send uncertain or sensitive cases to a person.

Example

A bank's chatbot is set to refuse investment advice, never reveal account data and transfer any fraud report to a human agent.

Why it matters for a website chatbot

A website chatbot speaks for your business, so it needs limits. ChatBento's built-in guardrails keep answers to your content, decline unrelated topics, ignore instructions hidden in messages, and hand off when unsure. You can add your own, such as "never discuss competitors".
